NIZUC Resort & Spa Announces Dia de Los Muertos Offerings and New Chef

Guests can experience traditional Día de los Muertos celebrations in Mexico this year with festive offerings from NIZUC Resort & Spa, located 15 minutes from the Cancun airport.

During this holiday, locals gather to honor and celebrate the lives of their departed ancestors by building private altars and visiting graves with gifts such as sugar skulls and marigolds.

To honor this tradition, NIZUC is dedicating three days of activities and special amenities to engage and educate its youngest guests on the importance of this centuries old celebration. Beginning October 31, the staff at the Winik’s Kids Club will lead kids of all ages in several games and crafts including:

Día de los Muertos Activities & Amenities 10/31-11/2

  • Halloween costume contest and “trick or treat” around the hotel
  • Crafting handmade “Cempazuchitl” paper flowers
  • Colorful sugar skull painting
  • Traditional treats like Pan de Muerto & Chocolate Caliente

NIZUC also welcomed Executive Chef Sylvain Desbois earlier this month, who oversees all culinary operations at the resort’s six restaurants.
